Mollom has done a great job for my site. It blocks approximately 131653 spammers in the past 227 days. Apart from that, I have also manually blacklisted some bad robots, and spamming IPs through .htaccess, which may not reveal through mollom statistics. I always verify through project honey pot or whois.org before banning anything. I am currently on a shared hosting environment, so every single byte counts.
Around 4 out of one thousand spammers reach my email box each month. The rest are killed by the mighty mollom.
Now I want to try to override my contact form with this regular blog node and let our disqus comment system do the filter instead:) I hope it will at least relax mollom for a while after a long great fight.
Let's see how much it can go. It's a strange kind of contact form, of course, but worth a try, don't you think? I don't know if it may confuse the bad robots:)
